This weekends assignment was shadows. As there wasn't much sun and it was raining we had to get creative. We went behind curtains and held up coloured objects such as bright post it notes to give the photos a coloured effect. I cropped this photo so it was even on both sides and then I white balanced I brought my highlights up to +8 so I could get some glowing effects in the photo. I then turned the shadows down to -26 so the shadows behind the curtain could stand out. As the curtain was white I brought whites up to+43 to make it contrast with the dark shadows. Finally I turned the saturation and vibrancy up a tiny bit to make the blue pop.
To get this photo I held up a bouquet of very pretty fake flowers and it created a shadow on the wall. I put a pink post it note in front of the flash so I could add some colours. I first white balanced the photo and then turned down the temperature to -36 as it was still very bright and overwhelming. That's all I did to this photo because if I tried to turn anything else up and down it would mess with something else in the photo.
for this photo I cropped so the sides were even and so there wasn't too much headroom. I then white balanced the photo and brought the tint up to +9. After that I brought the shadows down to -46 to make Mia pop behind the curtain. As this picture was a little bit noisy, I brought the clarity down to -11 to smoothen out the picture. I also slightly brought up my saturation and vibrancy so the blue would pop against the photo.
